1728 hrs Matlock Fire Stn 🚒 & Wirksworth Fire station attended a road traffic collision involving three vehicles on Bakewell Road, Matlock. Crews extricated one female casualty and made the scene safe. Two further casualties had self extricated, all were taken to hospital by East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust.
14:08 Crews from Wirksworth Fire station & Matlock Fire Stn 🚒 were called to a domestic fire on Arkwright Gardens, Cromford. On scene the kitchen of a bungalow was well alight. Firefighters used 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel along with positive pressure ventilation at the incident.
16:18 Wirksworth Fire station attended several reports of a tree fire on Yokecliffe Lane #Wirksworth. #Firefighters used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire which involved one tree and approx 20 square m of scrubland.
2202 hrs Wirksworth Fire station Matlock Fire Stn 🚒 are attending a fire involving an electricity pylon near to Ryder Point Road, Brassington, Western Power are also in attendance.

Lastnight we said a goodbye to FF Greg Powell after 36 years and 9 months of service to Wirksworth and the surrounding area Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service. We wish him a very happy and healthy retirement. Thank you Greg!
