Christmas lights a-plenty on the way in to work this morning - a fitting start to the day ahead of #Carols4ProBono tonight with Advocate and Leslie Berman. It is three years since we last held this event in person and looking forward to being together again this evening.

It's Student Volunteering Week, the perfect opportunity to thank the wonderful students who volunteer their time to support our casework team. Our remote programme has enabled students to volunteer from across the country, providing us with invaluable help. Thank you one and all.

Stark data from CitizensAdvice. Week of 23rd Jan-helped the 2nd most people of any week on record with emergency charitable support. 2022-helped over 200,000 people with crisis support (food bank referrals &emergency charitable support). Jan 23-helping more than 3 people/minute.

Brilliant news for our team this week as Sarah Abram KC Brick Court Chambers is appointed as our first ever Vice Chair. Sarah's very first case was a pro bono case and she has continued to volunteer with us throughout her career at the Bar.

It aims to support displaced journalists at grave risk in need of relocation & internat protection, as detailed by panellists Catherine Meredith & Caoilfhionn Gallagher KC

This week the Barristers’ Working Lives survey results showed 49% of respondents had done pro bono in the last year- a 14% increase since 2021. It is testament to the Bar’s dedication to access to justice for all & we feel deeply proud to support the Bar in this work.#WeDoProBono
