Would have been great for @SBMatYork to discuss this with parents instead of having to read about it in The Press Maybe they have, but since blocking us all we can’t read their tweets! #childish #zerocommunication Mark yorkpress.co.uk/news/23521599.…

Southbank MAT’s, “central management costs surge by nearly 50 percent”. Astounding figures spent on managers by the Trust that slashed the pay of teaching assistants. What a scandal. The Press BBC Yorkshire Richard Edwards YorkMix Louise Fewster Yorkshire Bylines The Yorkshire Post

Warwick Mansell The wording on their website regarding attendance is even more concerning. What a way to frame a child’s future. I would suggest that the ‘key to achievement’ is to not attend any of the schools within that Academy Trust. Ever.

Warwick Mansell If absence is an issue in this MAT then posters in the foyer is not a solution. Get to know children and families who need support. Maybe thin out the upper echelons of the organisation to employ family support workers

Warwick Mansell This type of information is really damaging to children who struggle to attend. Adds enormously to their anxiety but this isn’t something they are choosing so it doesn’t do anything to help them attend. My daughters gcse results were undoubtedly lower than they would have 1/2

Warwick Mansell This seems like a serious own goal, given that it is pressuring and anxiety-provoking, but also clearly scare-mongering, since the first five minutes of any school day are likely to be taken up with registration. It’s hard to argue that missing this affects life chances.

Warwick Mansell For children with ongoing anxiety Or living with domestic abuse Or as carers Or with chronic illness and anything else that impacts their punctuality and attendance this will make life even harder, more hopeless and stressful 😰😰

Warwick Mansell Once had a letter from daughter’s school warning that her grades would suffer because of her absence. There was no concern about why she had been absent, no worry about her actual health which was the cause. They didn’t ask me or her how she was.

South Bank MAT still displaying banners telling kids that if they miss any school they will fail in life. It’s this Trust that is a failure - enough is enough @Bob3142y Cllr Jonny Crawshaw Pete Kilbane Naomi Fisher
