WATERLINE project fulfills its goals one by one! As part of the project, we, as Dokuz Eylul University (DEU), carried out the Phase 1 testing of the Pipe Losses VR experiment developed by the University of Niš (UNI). Read more below 👇👇👇

In support of digital research and teaching, we are pleased to experience the first VR experiment in the DEU hydraulics laboratory, where we can physically perform many experiments on fluid mechanics and hydraulics.

Despite all the ongoing developments, it is clear that the "UNI Pipe Losses ViLE" experiment that allows measuring friction losses and minor losses in pipe systems, calculating loss coefficients, and monitoring scenarios under different flow conditions.

It will contribute as intended to digital water education, especially at the point of distance education as part of remotely planned teaching models or enforced due to force majeure conditions. Our excitement and cooperation continues!

He obtained his Ph.D. in Rural Economics and Appraisal in 2013 and his research activity has focused on the assessment of environmental, economic and social sustainability of agri-food and agro-industrial production processes through the integrated use of life-cycle tools.

He has participated in numerous research projects and is currently the coordinator of the Agro-Food and Agro-Industrial Working Group of the Italian LCA Network Association.

Here Giuseppe carries out research activities with ABITAlab (abitalab.unirc.it), His current research interests are in the area of advanced technologies for renewable energy communities.

He has gained expertise in the area of sustainability assessment of projects through protocols such as the Minimum Environmental Criteria and the DNSH, Agenda2030 and the application of decarbonisation and water resource management devices (NBS and SUDS).

💧 Giuseppe Mangano’s Role in Waterline 💧 Giuseppe is communication assistant and co-organiser of research activities for the UniRC unit in Waterline.

He participates in Steering Committees, workshops and partnership activities on behalf of and together with the members of his unit, he co-organised the F2F workshop, providing his expertise on the topics of co-design, innovation and environmental sustainability.
