An interesting experience at Enemy of the People. I had the mic in the audience interaction section and tried to question putting this show on in a west end space where greater wealth guarantees greater access to the art and was shut down by the actors. Clearly there’s something

in place to ‘deal’ with people trying to acknowledge the artifice of the interaction and on one level I get it but it feels so incurious, like a formal betrayal not to want to link the play’s ideas to the material reality of the moment. Left a funny taste in the mouth for sure.
