50μm square (with 20/30 dividing line) etched in Sharpie on the #RepRap RepRapMicron prototype. Lead in line is Z height probing. Top right is a gouge where I crashed the probe. Crash top right is the width of a hair. See blog.reprap.org for regular updates.

The philosophical issues at the heart of ai's interaction with humanity, expressed in one syllable. Also, proof of that syllable's incredible versatility.

#RepRap progress. The μRepRap has managed to scratch its own logo with discernible features down to 20μm. Follow blog.reprap.org for regular updates on the hardware.

The RepRapMicron is a teeny weeny #RepRap #3Dprinter and needs teeny weeny little build beds. I use squares of microscope slide. Until now they've been held down with tape, but I've just made a proper teeny weeny bed clamp for them. printables.com/model/876692-g…

Should anyone be interested, I've put the main build files up for the #RepRap #RepRapMicron 3D printer prototype here printables.com/model/876888-r…

G.C. Dobbs’ Ladybird Transistor Radio book from 1972 is cute, but it’s practically impossible to reproduce the build today due to characteristics of the ancient transistors. So I built this to try and capture the same aesthetic but with modern components. Low cost, works okay.

RepRapMicron does something useful! Here's a 50μm grid height map probe of the 'A' on an NZ 10c coin. Gory details and howto on blog & wiki: blog.reprap.org/2024/10/touch-… #reprap #3dprinter

Those following the #RepRap #3Dprinter blog blog.reprap.org might have noticed that recently only the first entry was showing up. This has been fixed and the micron scanning entries etc. are viewable once more. Blogger, it seems, does not like copy/pasted images.

On a #NewZealand coin, just above the date, are the letters 'IRB' 0.7mm high & protruding 40μm - not many know they are there. So I scanned them with a #RepRap Micron as a handy dandy test subject. blog.reprap.org/2024/11/imagin…

I've developed a GPL'd 3D printable system I'm calling "Metriccano" based on a 10mm grid and M3 fasteners that allows prototypes to be manually tweaked. Once finalised, these can be compressed (with or without M3 holes) and printed in one piece blog.reprap.org/2024/11/xy-tab… #RepRap

For those following #RepRap progress towards the micron level, here's the latest prototype called Maus: blog.reprap.org/2024/11/introd… #3dprinter #reprapmicron

For those following #reprap and #reprapmicron #3Dprinting projects, the files for the new direct drive micron-scale axis parts are up on github github.com/VikOlliver/Rep…

#RepRapMicron has achieved UV resin deposition. Here's a 10μm grid of 20μm dots (horizontal rows done with one probe dip) and a 300μm square. Blog entry here blog.reprap.org/2025/01/resin-…

Files for the #RepRap RepRapMicron Maus C prototype now up on github github.com/VikOlliver/Rep… Much nicer, bolts together in one lump rather than screwing to a slab of plywood. Still pre-alpha and being tested, but can make a 400μm long logo.

The #RepRapMicron #3Dprinter (the next #reprap project) says "Hello World", about 1.3mm long. It also did a #FabLab logo small enough to fit *inside* the hole in a #Prusa nozzle (human hair for scale - banana too big error) blog.reprap.org/2025/04

#RepRapMicron - the #RepRap #3dprinter designed to work down to the micron level - now has build documentation at github.com/VikOlliver/Rep… and just to prove it works, here's *two* of them.
