My FB ads are now just for reminding me how hard it’ll be to buy a home in the Chicago suburbs now on 2 Ts’ salaries. For reference, I took a $10k pay cut to move from the Quad Cities to burbs and pay over double in rent now. Husband got a $1k raise. 😖

It was abstract linear algebra for me. Oof.

I got to experience this at my last school on accident (school kept changing my classes each year and ended up always going a grade up). Had a handful of Ss for 3 years in a row and many for 2 in a row. Best classes of my career. I’d always brag that I was hogging the best Ss.

I tried to transfer my cool math stickers to my new laptop and it didn’t work and now I’m sad because I have a distinct lack of cool math stickers on my laptop. Another reason I’m looking forward to in-person conferences this year!

This is the first year I didn’t overdress for my first day. I wear a polo/blouse and work pants almost every day with my math TOMS. Why should the first day be any different? Felt great to feel like me on day 1.

I got to do a stations activity with the math teacher next door where we opened both rooms and Ss got to go between classes. If you and a neighbor teach the same class in the same period I highly recommend. It was so fun!
