Bengaluru now has the MOST EXPENSIVE metro fares in India. A worker earning ₹10,000/month now would spend ₹2,500+ on the metro alone. How can this be called "public" transport if the public can't afford it? ನಮ್ಮ ಮೆಟ್ರೋ #RevokeMetroFareHike Clifton D' Rozario

In part 2 of public transport of Indian cities, we cover the most important network for a city - bus network. And the city bus fleet in India is just NOT ENOUGH. Global benchmark is at 800-1000 buses per million people but even the top ranking Indian city is at only half of it.

This is outrageous. Demanding protection and shade in this brutal heat isn’t a luxury, it’s a basic human right. Heat action plans, labour laws, and health advisories all call for it. Blinkit must protect its workers. If not, we would start uninstalling the app.

Stupid city syndrome Car owners believe that tax they pay on their vehicles covers the costs of car-centric infrastructure. This is far from truth. Many of the stupid and unnecessary projects, like lane widening, flyovers, and elevated roads, are funded by public money. Our money.

Read my article about how women face some of the highest exposure to heat stress in domestic spaces, such as KITCHENS. The home is merely a word for them as it does not give the sense of comfort and condition is worse for those who live in informal settlements or Basti's.

This is an intentional exclusion and unnecessary financial burden on people who carry goods like street vendors. How many street vendors have seen using the metro in their everyday life? Forget the metro, have seen street vendors using buses in their everyday life?
