consider this a kind gesture from him as he tosses a plastic filled with sandwiches at him. he never showed any kindness to people he just met before. so this is the only time he'll be a little nice.

Poisoning a guy he just met and had no grudges toward to would be a dumb move. He's not a psychopath. So worry not, the sandwich isn't poisoned.

It's a common thing to have doubt over some people you just met. You never know what are they up to and all that. So it's not wrong to keep your guards up. Because if you don't, you might end up getting killed.

"Don't mention it." He knows. Gotta keep his guards up, the last time he trusted someone, he almost got himself killed. It wasn't the best experience out of all.

"Asher." Hearing the name Jesus got him chuckling for a second. "Jesus, huh. . never thought I see the Son of God coming down to the apocalypse world." He shouldn't be making jokes like this. But he did choose to help him out, so he had no option but to do so.

"Amen to that." Stuffing a hand on the pocket of his jacket, a little strange how these two met outside. For all he knows, he might be a dangerous stranger. "What are you doing out here? Folks send you out on a supply run?" He may or may not have stayed in their place once.

He heard his name. Thus he is now summoned.

Asher wasn't expecting any of this. It feels wrong, but feels right in a way or so. He didn't want to say anything offensive towards her. So he'll remain quiet for the time being.

At some point, Asher could stop and mess things up. But on the other hand, he didn't. All he ever do for now is follow her. And he is sure his sister would want him to find someone despite the rules he himself had set out for him.
