18 April 1944 | In the evening SS men with dogs escorted 299 Jewish women with two babies to a gas chamber from block 2 at BIIa sector of Auschwitz II-Birkenau. They had arrived on 16 April from KL Lublin. Their camp numbers were given to other female prisoners. Majdanek Memorial

19 April 1942 | Benzion Weingarten, a Polish Jew, perished in #Auschwitz. Benzion was a tailor's assistant. He was born in Kielce on 20 December 1924. He was incarcerated in the camp on 3 April 1942 & become no. 28782. He survived 16 days. He was 17.

April 19, 1943 the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising broke out. SS units who entered the ghetto area were met with Jewish resistance. Despite fierce determination and courage of the insurgents, they could not withstand the assaults of the well-trained regular troops. #HolocaustMemorialDay
