Health Minister Robin Swann yesterday had a comprehensive site tour of the facilities and an update of the new flagship project Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service Learning & Development College in Cookstown 🚒
Health Minister Robin Swann today visited Rural Support where he met and had an open discussion with staff.
He heard about the health needs and challenges facing those living in rural areas and the farming community.
Party Leader Doug Beattie has called on Westminster to step up and deliver funding for Health following the cuts agreed by SF/DUP/Alliance in the new Executive budget.

Today the I led on the Ulster Unionist Party motion calling for an Executive led Loneliness strategy, which was passed unanimously. I got to reflect on a conversation I had, 35 years ago, with an elder lady who came into the butchers shop I worked in mostly for the chat.

Thanks to Robbie Butler MLA for highlighting the disproportionate impact of loneliness on unpaid carers. Nearly 1 in 3 carers in Northern Ireland say they feel lonely always or often and issues like access to replacement care and financial strain are big drivers of that.
