As we commemorate International Youth Day, we would like to underscore the importance of educating young people on civic engagement. Truth is while young people play central roles in movements for democracy around the world, they are less engaged in voting and party activism.

Youth have often been overlooked because our society has stereotyped the perception that it’s for the “experienced” while young people are systematically marginalized on the basis of age, limited opportunities, and perceived lack of experience. We commit to fight such impression.

At 1.2 billion, today's young people represent a generation that can make the greatest impact in our society. As UCSPAK Kenya let's create that platform.

Youth pray a critical role in the peace building processes of this Republic. Allan Chacha the ED of UCSPAK Kenya joining other peace actors to make our country a better place to live in.

Earlier today when the ED together with other UCSPAK Kenya leaders held a consultative meeting to consolidate the inputs towards developing our 2019/2020 - 2024/2025 strategic plan. UCSPAK fosters a cohesive society guided by outlined frameworks.

As an association that also champions for youth involvement in political processes at various stages, we are glad that one of our members took the initiative to vie for a parliamentary seat through one of the political parties which is today conducting its nomination.

UCSPAK continues to reaffirm the commitment that advocates for maximum participation of youth, especially those in institutions of higher learning, in political exercises with a view to shaping the direction of this nation’s leadership for the better.

It’s our hope that the consultations that we continue to hold with various stakeholders shall bear maximums with regards to youth involvement in party and political engagements.We look forward to a peaceful society that guarantees safety for youth who show up in political spaces
