Wheat Kings HC/GM Marty Murray on list player Carson Ralph, who’s been a standout: “Ralph has been kind of a pleasant surprise, kind of an underdog if you will being a listed player. He’s been excellent all week. He could look like a first-round pick the way he performed in camp”

The second is 2009-born forward Carson Ralph. It’s not every day a 16-year-old free agent earns a signing with a team after his very first camp, but Ralph practically demanded the team’s attention with his play, both with and without the puck. He easily earned an exhibition look.

And speaking of guys right at home in Alberta: congratulations to Carson Ralph who, with the smart feed to Grayson Burzynski, picked up his first WHL point tonight. From his first WHL camp to his first point within the span of 3 months, he continues to rise at a remarkable rate.

Congratulations to the players selected to the Circle K Classic 1st and 2nd All Star Teams! These players truly embodied this year’s theme of setting the bar for excellence. #circlekclassic

Ralph is a really high IQ player. Undrafted, but has been a point a game player every year since he was 13, has played in Alberta Cup. 1st team All Star in U17AAA in 24/25 and already 2 GP with Brandon this year. Love this for him. #WHL

All three of these young men are having excellent seasons with their U18 teams and Ralph already has his first WHL point in a two-game recall earlier this season. This will be a great chance to get an early window into a bright future for the Black and Gold.
