Someone told me I look like Dewey from Malcolm in the Middle and now I can’t unsee it

Kids, as people, are morally equal to adults. They need us to guide them, teach them and support them, but they are people who deserve respect.

I have 3 kids. They are my children. Way more importantly, they are their own people. I respect that. I respect them.

I’m learning from my parents mistakes, which isn’t to say I’m not making my own. But I’m not making theirs, and that’s important.

If we tell our kids that they won’t get in trouble if they tell the truth, but discipline them when we know the truth. They are more likely to lie. It’s a cycle we can break.

I firmly believe in normalizing normal things. It’s part of raising good, loving people.

You can be mad without being mean. You can tell someone you’re hurting without hurting them.

It isn’t necessarily about moving past something as much as it is learning to live with something. Healing isn’t linear.
