Heck of a piece from Julia O'Malley on the Anchorage Daily News opinion page - tomorrow in print, or today/tomorrow/forever online. I’ve been gratified by the quality of the writing on the page lately. Julia is at her best in this one, articulating something I think many of us feel.

Just realized that six years ago today was my first day at Anchorage Daily News. It’s been a rewarding, challenging job and I’ve felt privileged every day to do it. It’s a funny thing; six years and I feel like I’m just starting to have a feel for the place. Hope that continues!

I know this is kinda apples and oranges, but a committee added $300 million in AIDEA bonding authority to a bill and there wasn’t even an opportunity for public comment. Yet this, 50% less funds, consumes half the session and goes down despite massive public outcry. Priorities?
