Congratulations to the 2023 Senior Girls Rugby Team who were honoured last night at Victoria Hall. They received a Civic Award of Distinction in Athletics as the only HS Girls team to win an OFSAA Championship in town history! Amazing stuff!

Seniors down CCI 46-0 to keep the streak alive - 24 yrs straight without a loss vs CCI (East prior). They keep the Saxons Cup, won by the Thunder every game since ‘05 - 19 yrs! Fletcher and Jones with 2 scores each, Mackenzie, Watson, Bull and Courtin with one. McNee 3 converts.

Senior Boys dominated Fenelon Falls 47-0. Bogyay with 3 scores & 4 converts, Barrett with 1 & 1 conv, Mackenzie, Bull, Harper with a score each. Carmichael with 1 convert. Juniors took too long to get started, clawing back but losing 24-15. Hinds, Barr and Wraight scored.

Senior Boys continue their strong play, shutting out St Peter’s 21-0 on the road. Bull, McKillop and McNee with scores. Mcnee with 3 converts. Juniors continue to show signs of growth, and couple it with some growing pains, losing 26-5 against Crestwood. Publicover scored.

Junior Boys Rugby starting to show glimpses of their potential after a solid 28-14 win on the road at St Peter’s. Desmond Publicover with 2 scores, Levi Greer and Isaac Simon with one each. Simon made all 4 conversions. Great game fellas!

Senior Boys took on a powerful TAS team today at home. A back and forth physical battle, with a few too many goal line double move penalties by the hosts, ended up 19-5 to the visitors. Some good positives and finally some teamwork!!! Mackenzie with the try.

Junior Boys Rugby continue their upward trend, defeating Brock in convincing fashion 27-0. Besslich, Barr, Ivey, Minifie and Smiley with scores. Simon with 1 conversion. IEW at home on Tuesday.

Senior Boys with one of their most complete games today, routing IE Weldon 61-7 at home. Bull (2), Jones (2), Graves, Hermann, McKillop, MacDonald and Fletcher with scores. McNee with 8 conversions. Holy Cross at home Friday to end the regular season.

Junior Boys win their third game in a row, surviving a wild 19-17 game against IE Weldon tgat could have gone either way multiple times. Simon, Crawford and Marshall with scores. Simon with 2 conversions.

Senior Boys with a solid back and forth game against Holy Cross today. HC ended up winning the game 33-26, with nothing on the line as playoff seeding was already set. McKillop with 2 scores, McNee and Fletcher with one each. Mcnee with 3 conversions. Kawartha next Friday!

Junior Boys had one of their best physical battles of the year, taking on the top team in the league Holy Cross. The boys held their own and were within a score for the majority of the game, ultimately falling 25-5. Besslich with the try. Kawarthas next Friday.

Junior Boys ended their season playing a private UK school touring side - the Windsor Boys School. The result was to be expected, but a solid game of rugby was on display by both sides! Whan with the try, Simon with the conversion. Looking forward to next year already!

Senior Girls had a pair of strong showings in a pair of development games, with a 5-5 draw vs Adam Scott and a 15-5 loss vs OFSAA Silver medallist TAS. Osborne and Mitchell with the scores. #keeprucking

Great end to the exhibition season in the annual Dobos Cup with Courtice. Seniors won 15-5, with Walton, O’Neill and Osborne scoring. Juniors also won 20-5, with Rice scoring 3 times and Turpin scoring the other try. Season kicks off Tuesday at home! #gothunder
