Congratulations to the 2023 Senior Girls Rugby Team who were honoured last night at Victoria Hall. They received a Civic Award of Distinction in Athletics as the only HS Girls team to win an OFSAA Championship in town history! Amazing stuff!

Seniors down CCI 46-0 to keep the streak alive - 24 yrs straight without a loss vs CCI (East prior). They keep the Saxons Cup, won by the Thunder every game since ‘05 - 19 yrs! Fletcher and Jones with 2 scores each, Mackenzie, Watson, Bull and Courtin with one. McNee 3 converts.

All good things must come to and end - what a run! 21 years without a loss to CCI, and 18 years as the sole winner of the Saxon Cup. Congrats to the Junior CCI Wolves Rugby for winning a thriller 23-20, with a penalty kick for the win. Whan, Minifie, Barr & Catherwood score.

Senior Boys dominated Fenelon Falls 47-0. Bogyay with 3 scores & 4 converts, Barrett with 1 & 1 conv, Mackenzie, Bull, Harper with a score each. Carmichael with 1 convert. Juniors took too long to get started, clawing back but losing 24-15. Hinds, Barr and Wraight scored.

Senior Boys continue their strong play, shutting out St Peter’s 21-0 on the road. Bull, McKillop and McNee with scores. Mcnee with 3 converts. Juniors continue to show signs of growth, and couple it with some growing pains, losing 26-5 against Crestwood. Publicover scored.

Senior Boys took on a powerful TAS team today at home. A back and forth physical battle, with a few too many goal line double move penalties by the hosts, ended up 19-5 to the visitors. Some good positives and finally some teamwork!!! Mackenzie with the try.

Senior Boys with a solid back and forth game against Holy Cross today. HC ended up winning the game 33-26, with nothing on the line as playoff seeding was already set. McKillop with 2 scores, McNee and Fletcher with one each. Mcnee with 3 conversions. Kawartha next Friday!

Junior Boys had one of their best physical battles of the year, taking on the top team in the league Holy Cross. The boys held their own and were within a score for the majority of the game, ultimately falling 25-5. Besslich with the try. Kawarthas next Friday.

Junior Boys ended their season playing a private UK school touring side - the Windsor Boys School. The result was to be expected, but a solid game of rugby was on display by both sides! Whan with the try, Simon with the conversion. Looking forward to next year already!

Girls Rugby results last week: Srs beat Trenton 30-0 and St Paul 20-0, lost 15-0 to IEW. Jrs tied St Paul 10-10, beat IEW 15-5 and PECI 30-5. Try scorers: A Stewart (5), Besslich (3), Osborne (2), Rice (2), Bernard, Boundy, Herron, Mitchell, Mattson, Greer, Fulton, D Stewart.
