2 homeless men arrested for multiple burglaries committed in New Hyde Park, Mineola, Thomaston, & Greenvale from 05/02/10 through 06/02/10.

October 7 - A 20 year-old New Hyde Park man was arrested and charged with two counts of Burglary 3rd degree.

The defendant was charged with burglarizing Jennifer Flowers Florist and the Hillside Islamic Center, both in New Hyde Park.

Our flag is at half-staff today in honor of Army Sergeant Kevin W. White, who died in Kunar Province, Afghanistan on May 2, 2011.

Scattered thunderstorms will be developing in the area and moving across Long Island by 5-7pm with the threat of storms ending by 9-10pm.

The strongest storms will likely be over western parts of Long Island where the air mass will be warmer and more unstable.

The storms may produce wind gusts of 50-60 mph, 45-55 mph over eastern parts of Long Island, some hail and lightning.

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for Nassau County.
