So true. We need to change our attitude to this so-called non-native species, also frequently described as a weed. Supports tons of biodiversity, gets big and grows old and has no nasty pathogens threatening, it yet. I 💚 the great maple!

Paul Wood 🌳 My favourite Sycamores with 8 or 9 stems beside the optimistically named Via Devana Roman Road where it crosses a stream at Middle of the World aka Mark's Grave near #Cambridge. Looking like they were once pollarded or maybe part of a hedge.

Sad to lose another great old #Bermondsey landmark tree 😭. This Tree of Heaven on Crimscott St was probably one of the original trees planted by Ada Salter. But take a closer look: its offspring live on, having established themselves in the sunken courtyard behind their parent!
