I don’t see anything inherently wrong with it as long as it’s done tastefully and respectfully. I would describe myself as such because I am an eclectic spiritualist and don’t align with one practice specifically or strictly

i feel its a blessing to know your spiritual lineages and id think as long as youre respectful and know whats required of each they should be able to coexist. ive been tapping into spiritual traditions but its so hard to unlock that knowledge when your family has abandoned it :(

I’ve been telling people that man has CHF for months now lmao. Yall can believe the story they’re pumping out if you want. Not sure if doctors will want to perform a heart bypass on someone his age either

The Shiloh Ritual ♄ I can answer this from a Caribbean American perspective. A lot of us have lineage in several traditions, be it lucumi, espiritismo cruzado, sanse, 21 divisions, Haitian voodoo, obeah, palo mayombe, as well as the islands indigenous practices. It depends where the spirits call u

The Shiloh Ritual ♄ I know some ppl rightfully scratched in palo, crowned in orisha, who also practice Haitian Vodou. These are where they were called, some ppl get into one and stay in one. I think sometimes the religions and practices we’re called into are for the honoring of our spirits

everytime i’ve asked a spiritual practitioner they never had a clear answer for me. but i’ve found researching a little at a time helps me. Hoodoo, Espiritsmo, & 21 Divisions are my cultural ties. I’ve yet to commit to any.

I love it and it’s just who I am. It’s partly why I’m an interfaith minister rooted in Africana religious traditions. It reflects my ancestral lineages & my path for this life incarnation which included engagement in multiple religious traditions across the Black Atlantic.

I came into Orisha devotion practicing both Lukumi and Isese Lagba. My maternal line were apart of the Ogun cult centuries ago. And then I have my Hoodoo heritage which my people practiced alongside/with Islam and Christianity.

And then there’s Espiritismo Cruzado and Palo (though I’m not scratched) because of my very present and active Kongo ancestry. When we let go of borders, we see many of us in the Diasporic are multi-ethnic people and our religious paths reflect those realities and histories.

I think it’s important to understand that these religious traditions are autonomous universes of their own replete w/ their own cosmologies & frameworks which shouldn’t be reduced or conflated but respected and honored w/ care.

Working under the tutelage of experienced and honorable elders can help folks navigate all of this w/ discernment and care. 🙏🏿🕯️🙌🏿
