On board Delta from LAS to JFK (DL795), as soon as the incredibly delayed plane finally begins to ascend, a liquid comes POURING down on me from over head. I had to jump out of my seat onto another passenger’s lap!

The liquid was non stop— so much so that it POOLED into my seat, as a watched from my neighbor’s lap. He called for the flight attendant. It took entirely too long for a flight attendant to respond. Delta

When the attendant responded, she went to a white couple sitting 2 rows behind me— who rang LONG AFTER ME. They told her there’s water coming from UP THERE! Pointed toward me. Delta

The flight attendant stops at another row—another passenger who did not call her— and asked what happened. She proceeded to get napkins for the passenger who called after me. The passenger directly behind me pointed her toward me (for the 2nd time now). @delta

When she finally gets to me, she sees my SOAKED shirt and says ‘oh let me get some napkins’. She presents the napkins to the passenger in the row before me. I had to exclaim— did “she ask you for napkins or did I?!?!” She says ‘oh. Here.’ Delta

Fun fact: the flight attendant and all the passengers she cares about are white. I am not. As a black woman, the flippant way that this flight attendant lazily responded to me is incredibly offensive and disappointing. Delta

The lead flight attendant attempted to give me security in saying: it’s either condensation or something from someone’s bag. How is that supposed to make me feel better???? Delta

After 3 hours in flight, the lead flight attendant apologized for the incident and offered me 4,000 points. Unfortunately, that’s not even half enough to rectify this situation. Delta

Let’s add to this, Delta— Already from JFK to LAS, you delayed my bag and it did not arrive with me. I wasn’t given any explanations as to why. Because of this unknown blunder— I missed a work event that was extremely important to the success of my career! Delta

To attempt to fix this, I was promised my bag would arrive by 10:30pm, — in true Delta fashion, that didn’t happen. My bag didn’t arrive to me until 1am! Do I have to be white to receive proper service from this airline?? Delta
