Ella Lambert set up @thepachaproject whilst studying at University of Bristol. The project helps refugees via distributing free reusable sanitary products. It’s now a global network of 2,000 volunteers who’ve sewn 100,000 colourful pads. Rachael McMenemy reports: bbc.com/news/uk-englan…
Since starting in 2020, our distributions of reusable sanitary pads have saved more than 18 million sanitary products from ending up in landfill. (Calculated using Wen. (Women’s Environmental Network) Environmenstrual fact sheet - wen.org.uk/wp-content/upl…)

Ella came to talk to our Y9's about her charity The Pachamama Project. We launched a club for the students to make some period products that could be sent off to refugees & people suffering period poverty in various countries, as well as the UK #schoolstogether #powerofpartnerships
Girls across the 🌍 tell me that stigma, inadequate infrastructure and lack of access to menstrual products disrupt their education. I partnered with Michael Sheldrick @glblctzn to bring together changemakers passionate about breaking down these barriers. #RightsFreedomChoice
Period poverty is a particular issue in refugee camps during conflict. “When you hear the war sirens in the middle of the night and you grab a bag and grab anything you can get your hands on, who thinks to pack sanitary products?” said period poverty activist Ella Lambert.
“In the way we have toilet rolls in every public bathroom, there should be free sanitary products.” Ella Lambert.
Our founder Ella Lambert spoke in parliament on Wednesday about how fighting period poverty keeps girls in education.
Thank you Financial Times for highlighting our work in Lebanon to tackle period poverty and end the menstrual stigma. “I don’t think any girl should miss out on the same education as her brothers simply because she has a period.” - Ella Lambert ft.com/content/69fcd0…
We are very pleased to announce that our founder Ella Lambert is a 2024 recipient of the The Diana Award for her work tackling global period poverty. Thank you to all our incredible volunteers who are all deserved of this recognition. 💙🧡🌞
