Thinking about all the gymnosperms & monocots that bees visit incl grasses & sedges. If it weren't for @ManuSaunders paper at the time or Michener's entry on Salix I would never have guessed my own bee pollen DNA matches to such plants to be true! Img credits in captions #science

We saw a platypus! The real one is slightly smaller than this sculpture but much harder to photograph! And we did find bees, including one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. Read the latest blogpost of the Buzz Bus here: thebuzzbus.plant-evolution.org/?p=363

I’m sad to report that Ron McGinley, co-author of this book and many other important works on bees, and a long time major contributor to The Bee Course has passed away.
