When defending a 2 on 1, always take the pass. Take it so aggressively, you skate right over to the open player and give the puck carrier a full breakaway.

This is perfect strategic team defense. By giving the puck carrier two equally great options, you confuse him to the point where he can’t execute a good play.

This is perfect defence! Just do this on every point shot, and your goalie will love you.

“Man to man” d-zone:

Take shorter strides.

If you’re not taking 6-8 PIMs per game, you’re not competing hard enough.

Goaltending is all about reactions, not positioning. Depth and angle don’t even matter.

If you want the puck, keep your mouth shut and tap your stick on the ice.

To improve puck control, always watch the puck when stick-handling.

How to line up for a D-zone faceoff:

Warmup is for the players. Just try to rip it top shelf, and the goalie will deal with it. He’s going to face those shots in the game anyway.

Body checking key points: - Head up, hands down - Lead with your shoulder - Make contact approximately 3 feet from the boards - If possible, drive your shoulder directly into his head - If you see the players numbers, make sure you finish your check hard into the boards
