Excited to be en route to Barcelona for a Prison Transparency Project site visit and meetings with Catalan officials. Building momentum!
Got the band back together for our tour of Catalonia. Barcelona gave us a very warm welcome. Prison Transparency Project looking forward to meeting with our Spanish partners tomorrow and getting some good work done together.

We are privileged today to spend time with Inaki Rivera Beiras, founder of the Catalan Observatory on Human Rights and Prison who is teaching us about prison activism in Spain. So inspiring to hear stories of activists in solidarity with prisoners. Prison Transparency Project
Today we met with Inaki Rivera Beiras, an astonishing scholar and activist. His outspoken views on Catalan prisons made him a target of the Spanish State. He also founded the local, citizen driven prison observatory. Prison Transparency Project has a new and valued friend.
Today in Barcelona the Prison Transparency Project is having a fascinating meeting with prison officials in Catalonia, learning how they have take up and adapted Canada’s problematic rehabilitation scheme.

This is why Prison Transparency Project values and partners with investigative journalists. It’s not enough that we know these things happen. We want to world to know about the constant injustices of incarceration. cbc.ca/news/canada/ha…
