Practically every sentence in this article annoys me, but then I realized what was really unsettling about it--this is in POPULAR MECHANICS!

NDS expert says deconstruct nuclear weapons, so THEN we can have conventional wars again, which he states will OPTIMISTICALLY kill 160 million, thereby removing their carbon signatures.
So very, very sick.

Despite countries like Switzerland, Finland, and even DKRP having nuclear shelters, why do Americans lack this basic safety measure? Is it because we prioritize the illusion of control over safeguarding lives? #NuclearSafety #PrioritizePeople #KardtricK"
If the US had an extensive bunker system like Switzerland It could boost deterrence by 20%. No mere weapon can offer so much deterrence value! And unlike the villagers of Chu Chi, who built deep tunnels with hand tools, we've got advanced mining tech! #unknownoldierofnuclearwar"
Just read "Nuclear War: A Scenario" by Annie Jacobsen (2024). Well worth reading. Presents worst-case scenario with DKRP bolt-out-of-the-blue thermonuclear attack on DC. Response from US is to fire ICBMs back at DKRP, missiles which MUST fly over Russia. Very. Bad Idea.💣
Of course, in Dr. Strangelove 2--which is coming out next month on Netflix, the iconic Slim Pickens scene--will be replaced by a scene with a Marilyn Monroe-like figure.
Nuclear weapons horrify me. I can't think of anything more terrible, and as an relative expert on the nuclear era, the feeling is nearly always with me.
For this reason I always sought "the answer." And now I think I've got something:

Great non-fiction books of the Nuclear Era: I will give them in the order read: Hiroshima, by John Hershey (1946). The author follows six victims present in Hiroshima on Wed. August 6, 1945.
My first podcast on "Nuclear War"--felt a need to respond to books and articles I read on the nuclear era. Here I start with an off-the-cuff review of Anne Jacobsen's "Nuclear War: A Scenario." youtu.be/DKhdJLShFH4?si…
I'm lately reading about Civil War generals like Grant and Jackson--they could "see" the whole battlefield. But In this nuclear war era how do I "see the battlefield." I don't believe in mushroom clouds.
Nuclear war is always now. It's just us vs. nuclear weapons corpus.
Re-think nuclear war completely. The government is not going to help us.
The gov is either invested or never understood the Bomb corpus in the first place. The mushroom cloud illusion--that's the END of nuclear war.
Right now! Nuclear war is right now!

What they always showed us, the mushroom clouds--that's not a nuclear war, its a reel of test shots performed in the Aleutian Islands and in the Pacific. So if you are going to show someone what "war" is like, do you show them mere "tests" or "military exercises?"
Clausewitz's definition of war is "the continuation of politics by other means." So the mushroom clouds thing isn't "war." Because of the automation in the system of ICBMs and SLBMs and etc. its more akin to a SYSTEM EVENT. Post code "00". #kardtrick
My 2nd little podcast on the nuclear erea--here I review a Minuteman 3 test launch video from the actual SPACE FORCE and Air Force Global Strike Command.
