We had a sneak preview of Tate’s new exhibition of women artists in Britain - it’s an amazing show. A triumph of curation, with many loans never before known or exhibited. Highly recommended! >

Is this Welsh cave 'the first holy place' in the British Isles? Did people we can call 'pilgrims' journey here in the depths of the Ice Age some 34,000 years ago? And why do some modern pilgrims still today consider this a sacred space? Enter its depths in this thread.. 1/

Dear Labour Government, Please rethink the nation’s relationship to the arts. Basically, stop thinking of them as a luxury. They’re not. The arts are a central part of what makes us human: a priority; our song to the heavens. All societies are judged by the art they leave behind.

Capybaras are herbivores, therefore harmless to other animals around them. They're easy-going semi-aquatic mammals, social, friendly, and gentle, and get along with just about everyone, so it makes sense that other animals would enjoy their company This is an example

One pretty cool geological fun fact is that the Appalachian Mountains, the Atlas Mountains, the Scottish Highlands, the Watkins Range and Scandinavian Mountains were all once part of the same mountain range, the Central Pangean Mountains

Britain is full of bad public art that seems to have no particular reason to be where it is and gives little to its surroundings, let alone inspires or moves anyone. This is a case in point - the bronze statue of the late Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh was unveiled
