Our CIHR team grant (also supported by Alberta Innovates, Ontario Ministry of Health, Women & Children's Health Research Institute, Obesity Canada) has ended. Our first CIHR supported study was conducted by researchers at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), including @SarahCarsley and @AndersonLauraN which examined the prevalence, misclassification, and health care utilization of #severeobesity in Ontario children. bit.ly/32V4mjl

Another paper hot off the press from our first Team ABC3 study! This one examines #mentalhealth service use and #weight status in #Ontario kids and youth.

Study 2 of our CIHR team grant found that only 37% of children referred to #pediatric #weightmanagement enrolled in care. Conducted by researchers UAlberta Med & Dent, a Women & Children's Health Research Institute supported trainee, and Maryam Kebbe, PhD. bit.ly/3l3GsIB

Our third study showed that many children in #pediatric #weightmanagement have variable phenotypes with individual eating triggers and behaviours. Conducted by researchers The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), including Katherine Morrison and Alène Toulany! bit.ly/33kpMq2

Study 4 of our team grant was led by @AmyCMcpherson and Meaghan Walker Holland Bloorview as well as @JessHainesPhD. They interviewed youth with #AutismSpectrumDisorder about what was important to them about #weight and their bodies 🙌 Blogpost: bit.ly/2JnS8sM

Up next we have study 5 which was led by Katherine Morrison at McMaster University as part of #CANPWR. The study found that the Edmonton Obesity Staging System for #Pediatrics better defines health risks than #obesity class. Blogpost here: bit.ly/39DvozJ

Our sixth study completed a trial of @Aim2Be_app - a gamified app for #children with #overweight & #obesity. Check out their preliminary results: bit.ly/33Rb2zc. The app was developed with @COF_5210 and Ayogo and is available for free download (aim2be.ca)!

Study 7 of our team grant was conducted by researchers The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). It is a feasibility trial of the #SickKids #pediatricweightmanagment program - Team #Obesity Management Program (STOMP) Early Years. Check out their progress: bit.ly/3m1zxA3

Our 8th study, a collab with Public Health PHAC and Canadian Paediatric Society's Canadian Paediatric Surveillance Program, was led by researchers The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) and UAlberta Med & Dent (Nicole Gehring).
