Once again, please DO NOT use food as a manipulative in math. Many of our Ss experience food insecurity. What message are we sending when something so valuable as food is used to support a toothpick/create a pattern & then tossed in the garbage? There are so many alternatives.

Students in Grade 5/6 Winston Churchill PS are working diligently preparing to record their STOP motion films as directed and inspired by our teacher candidate, Teacher Huys. They have the plot, characters, and setting ready. All hands on deck as they bring their visions to reality.

Acknowledging and letting go of perfectionism is how artists have fun! @queenseduc’s art class with Leaf Kretz rocks. Excited to use my learning about teaching art through critical multiculturalism and environmental justice in my next classroom

“Hey! Isn’t this letter hundreds of years old?!” Grade 5/6s learned about this letter made using yellow paper, coffee grounds and Crawford's 1783 claims to "purchasing" Kingston/Katarokwi. Inquiry + critical thinking = anti-colonial magic Erin K Limestone District School Board

Haven’t posted here in a bit! Second year teaching grade 2 in Pikangikum and loving it. This First Nations reserve has a 97% retention rate of the Ojibway language. The children are socially intelligent, generous and have great senses of humour.
