We need to keep making the case for transit. Not just as a way to move people, but as an economic development tool. At today's transit hearing, I asked the FTA to follow through on its commitment to local transit projects including Tempe Streetcar and South Central light rail.

Great Opinion article on why to vote no on Prop 105 & 106. Proposition 105 and 106 are bad for Phoenix azcapitoltimes.com/news/2019/07/1…

Ballots arrive in Phoenix mailboxes any day now. I’m voting NO on both Proposition 105 and 106. No105No106 is the best way to keep Phoenix moving on its positive trajectory. azcentral.com/story/opinion/…

A big shout out to Valley Metro and the Downtown Tempe to keep businesses and the public informed, as well as assisting businesses and holding promotional events. And lastly, thank you to our business owners and residents for your patience. This investment will be worthwhile!

Sometimes seemingly small stories carry bigger significance. When residents in a city like Phoenix vote overwhelmingly to invest in public transportation (like they did yesterday) I think it’s a sign of a possible sea change on how we are thinking of living and sustainability.

Back in July I advocated for federal investment in the Tempe Streetcar at a Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure hearing. Just heard from Federal Transit Admn that the project will be awarded $75 million in Capital Investment Grant funds. A huge win for one of the highest transit ridership centers in our region!

It’s not a tale of two cities, just two views of the same the street. One from people who need to move through the city regularly & the other from that uncle in the suburbs who likes moving in a giant metal box, no matter the setting.

I was arrested for skateboarding at the local junior high when I was a teenager. The real reason was that the cop didn’t like us. Cops arrest who they want to arrest. x.com/davenewworld_2…

Don't forget this image when the same leaders who helped incite this violence block hazard pay, a living wage or paid sick days for essential workers. Frontline janitors showed up like we always do to literally cleaning up yesterday’s mess at the Capitol. H/T: Daniella Diaz

Look what we have here! Our first #TempeStreetcar vehicle is getting ready to make it's way to Phoenix from our manufacturer Brookville Equipment in Pennsylvania. Hopefully it's the only time our streetcar travels on tracks in the snow!
