Katie Kenyon: Prosecution said Katie’s phone hit cell sites coming back but by then Katie was already in a grave that Andrew Burfield had dug the night before. CCTV caught Burfield’s van coming back. Only one person could be seen inside.

Katie Kenyon: Prosecution say messages were sent from Katie’s phone to her children and mum. Similar to the ones found on Andrew Burfield’s iCloud.

Katie Kenyon: Prosecution said on 23rd April Andrew Burfield was building an extension at a house in Burnley. He asked what day the bins were emptied at a Spar shop in the area and was seen throwing things in.

Katie Kenyon: Police went to the house in Burnley where Andrew Burfield had been working and searched the outside bins. Bags were recovered from the bin with blood on them, flip flops and items addressed to Andrew Burfield and related receipts, the prosecution said.

Katie Kenyon: Day 2 - Court heard how Katie’s sister Jennifer suspected that Andrew Burfield had something to do with Katie’s disappearance. Prosecution said Burfield sent messages to Katie’s family pretending to be her after she went missing.

Katie Kenyon: Day 2 - the message from Katie’s sister to Andrew Burfield read “Katie knows how to spell and mentioned about you having dyslexia which makes sense to the spelling. YOU SENT THEM TEXTS! YOU KNOW WHERE KATIE IS”.
