Excited to share this work on intractable #epilepsy related to periventricular nodular heterotopia in Annals of Neurology doi.org/10.1002/ana.27… We show high cure rates with focal laser ablation of PVNH even when associated with polymicrogyria or hippocampus sclerosis - 1/n

Wonderfully articulated! So many of us wonder why papers that echo beliefs we already have get frequently published in C, N, S etc. Further the focus on hypothesis framing in grant applications leads many to disregard remarkable experimental designs that may be game changing.

The Berger-Sanai classification system divides the insula into 4 zones using an axis corresponding to the Sylvian fissure and a perpendicular axis crossing the foramen of Monro (A). Tumors are assigned to the zone containing >50% of their volume (B&C).
