Was some mighty fine aurora up here in Abisko about an hour or so ago :) One of the things I love about shooting auroras in the autumn is the reflections in lake Torneträsk

Just back down from a day hiking around Abisko still a lot of stunning colours left in some of the mountain birch trees which goes well with the snow covered mountains :-)

Into the eye of last nights geo-magnetic storm Last night here in Abisko while it was was Kp6 we had a localised K8 recorded (on Kiruna magnetometer) and this was the coronal explosion out of it In my ten years guiding maybe the most colourful I have seen 0.6 second exposure!

This mornings hike I thought no sunrise as there a bank of clouds to the east so I only took a long lens Then as I got down to the lake this crazy atmospheric effect happened through Lapporten (Čuonjávággi) with the gates of the mountain making a huge shadow
