Splicing proteins play a key role outside the nucleus - in axons and dendrites during neuronal maturation and neurodegeneration. Yet, we don't know what they are doing in these non-nuclear compartments. Want to crack this important question with us? (1/2)

Inclusion London's Julia Modern said the “modest increases in some budgets for essential services like the NHS and housing” are welcome, but “there is nothing in the budget to address the huge rates of poverty among disabled people. Instead, our social security is being eroded”.

DWP is using a sleight of hand in its disability benefit cuts impact assessment: Actual increase in poverty is closer to 400,000, not the 250,000 in the impact assessment. Quick thread explaining why. 🧵1/7

#DisabilityPovertyCampaignGroup data in the Guardian this morning: theguardian.com/politics/2025/… The #Labour government's planned cuts to social security for Disabled people are wrong, and the public know it. Write to your MP to tell them to speak up: inclusionlondon.org.uk/campaigns-and-…

Seeing lots of MPs claiming 90% of people receiving PIP will be unaffected by the #Labour government cuts. The Office for Budget Responsibility's official report shows that 52% of people awarded PIP after a recent reassessment wouldn't meet the new requirements

Julia Modern (@laamodern) 's Twitter Profile Photo

looking at a very large number of people losing PIP, and then regaining it after an appeals process - which we know is highly traumatic. Again, to argue these people are unaffected is, in the most generous interpretation, misleading. The OBR also describes their forecast that

Julia Modern (@laamodern) 's Twitter Profile Photo

'only' 800,000 people overall will lose PIP as 'a highly uncertain judgement' because predicting behavioural changes is necessarily inexact. This figure should absolutely not be used to reassure MPs that the impact is small - it won't be. We'll keep fighting the misinformation

I welcomed experts to Parliament tonight to bust myths on the cuts to disability benefits. MPs are being told changes to employment support will offset any harm. This is a false equivalency - these are the biggest cuts since George Osborne. I will vote against these cuts.
