I am deeply saddened by the passing of my dear friend, Demetrius Johnson. Our city and region have lost a once-in-generation figure who has changed the lives of thousands of people and families in our community. We must continue to honor his life and uphold his legacy.

Lamar Johnson served 28 yrs of a life sentence when his innocence was finally proven, and he was set free! All with the help of the Innocence Project and St. Louis Attorney Kim Gardner. Racial bias in the court system destroys the lives of many. Glad to have Lamar home ✊🏾
