Congrats to Hendrick Motor Sports for just completing the 24 hours of LeMans endurance race. Not just completing but competing in a Chevy Camaro with a big American V-8. Finished 39th out of 62 entries that had 3 different car classes.

Had the great pleasure of being on the NFL'S Ed Block Courage Award pod cast with former NFL vet, Wally Williams who I had the pleasure of scouting while he was at Fl.A&M. Talked about scouting at the HBCU schools, the scouting process & catching up on the topic of football.

Huge N.Y. Ranger fan but disappointed with the signings. A bunch of guys & 38 yr old Wheeler. liked Tyler Motte a lot & they had to as well since they brought him back. Tareshenko can still light the lamp

" One must never allow oneself to aquire an exaggerated sense of one's own importance " Great quote in a great book. The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand

R.I.P. Johnie Cooks. Johnie was a key pickup for us on our run to win Super Bowl XXV. An huge OLB, he played all along our defensive front 7 in a sub role. After his playing career he worked at Ms. State in the athletic dept. I always stopped by his office to say hi, a great guy.

Sad to hear the passing of Stony Brook Football Coach Bryan Collins. As a former member of C.W. Post family, Coach Collins had me talk to his team while he was the HC prior to a game in Pittsburgh my last year on the road for the Giants. R.I.P. Coach.

R.I.P. Tony Bennett. I grew up with my parents listening to & dancing to the music of Sinatra & Bennett. My wife & I had the great pleasure to experience both of these great singers live. Tony Bennet's duo albums with K.D.Lang, Lady Gaga & others were timeless.

Fred McGriff, a very good player but HOF? Played 19 years, hit 400+ HRs, hit .284, never won a gold glove, never a batting champ or MVP. D. Mattingly hit a career .307,won a batting title was an MVP,TSN Player of the year, 9 gold gloves at same position as McGriff. don't get it.

Saquon to sit out ? Ask L. Bell how that went for his career. What point will he be making by sitting out ? It will not change the RB pay scale. 10 + million is not chump change. Barry Sanders didn't make the money many QB's made when he was playing. Jim Brown didn't make QB $

Tarasenko signs a 1 yr deal with Ottawa for 5 Mil. I get Rangers being able signing B. Wheeler for less than a Mil. but Belize,Bonino & Pitlick, that is 2.7 Mil you could of put toward Tarasenko. He will score more goals than those 3 combined.Rangers will not have enough scoring

The N.Y. Giants just pulled off a trade getting Isaiah Simmons from Arizona for a 7th rd. pick. This is a very versatile player who can be an edge rusher, an off the ball LB, play match up M/M coverage vs TE, a big DS. a real " Swiss Army Knife ", perfect for Wink's D

Steven E Verderosa (@stevev_nfl) 's Twitter Profile Photo

In Simmons last year at Clemson, he lined up as an edge rusher, as an inside LB off the ball, as a nickle DS, as a slot corner covering WRs plus in 3 yrs was credited with 23 primary special teams tackles. ran in the low 4.4s. can be a match up vs speedy & tall tight ends

When Anita Marks & myself did our NFL Draft preview show back in 2020 I was shocked that Trey Lance was the 3rd pick in the draft based on the body of work in college. Has the physical tools to develop but was LONG away from being ready. gave up 3 1st rd picks to get back a 4th

In 2017 with the 3rd pick in the draft the 49'ers took an undersized DT, Solomon Thomas. Some of the players they could of taken that year, WR Mike Williams, RB Christian Mc Caffery, QB'S Mahomes & D. Watson, DB Marshon Lattimore, DT Jonathan Allen & LB TJ Watt. Thomas, a backup.

Last Friday had the great pleasure to attend a concert with music Icon Gladys Knight performing. Eric Benet was the opening act & he paid tribute to Bill Withers & Prince. It was an awesome 3 hours.

Green Bay vs Chicago, Justin Fields is hard to watch and easy to defense as a passer. This is year 3 and he still looks like he has a long way to go as an NFL QB. Big, strong with a powerful arm but still staring down WRs

Hard to watch last night if you are a Giants fan. Opening drive started off well as they were knocking the Cowboys off the ball. A false start then a bad shotgun snap & a blocked FG turned into 6. OK, stuff happens but they never buckled up and got back to basics.
