No microtubules? No problem! Naegleria use #actin and Arp2/3 complex to crawl and eat. Check out our (w/ Lillian Fritz-Laylin) preprint; we would appreciate your constructive feedback 😀 (1/n)

.Manish Butte 's lab shows YAP is a mechanosensor that suppresses metabolism and effector activity of T cells in soft tissues and lymph nodes, and accentuates responses in stiff ones. This mechanism helps fight infections & suppresses autoimmunity bit.ly/2zNGEu6

Leithner et al. show that dendritic cell #actin dynamics at the immunological synapse w/ T cells is dependent on the WAVE regulatory complex. Absence of DC WAVE leads to reduced actin dynamics, stabilised cell-cell contacts & inefficient T cell expansion. bit.ly/3tn6EmK

I'm super happy our paper is finally published in Science Immunology  science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… We show the importance of a pathogen first contact in the oral mucosa during infection through the oral route, highlighting the concept of regional specialization of the immune response.
