AMA I didn't go to medical school, sacrifice my 20's and early 30's to become a "provider". I did it to become a "Doctor." Happy to collaborate on care for patients, but at the end of the day, I'm going to lead the team because it's what I've trained to do.

Corporate control of medicine is at an all time high. They also decrease the amount Physicians available to see you (yes even in emergencies) through various mechanisms... #medtwitter unrollthread.com/t/138994039601…

Corporate greed and anti-intellectualism is ruining healthcare and our patients will ultimately be the ones paying the price. #MedTwitter #StopScopeCreep #NurseTwitter MD

This will not stop until we have an army of angry patients. Legislating non physicians to practice medicine without a single day in med school is #Fraud Who wins? #BigHealthCartel..Who loses? Patients #WeAreAllPatients

ALERT: So although Lousiana HB 495 for FPA for NPs passed in the House, so many people called in to express concern that the Senate plans to reach out to the public for further comment. This is a good thing and another chance to kill this unsafe bill dead! More updates to come!

"Quality metrics" in healthcare are supposed to make things better. The problem is that so many resources are dedicated to collecting and analyzing them that it takes away from patient care. "Quality metrics" are mostly bad for healthcare, and collecting them is a waste

Did you know nurse practitioners do not practice to, and are not held to, a medical care standard? If you receive care from a NP, you are not receiving medical care. In a malpractice case against a NP, a physician would not even be allowed to give testimony on the “nursing care.”

We went through 4 years of undergrad, 4 years of medical school, and 3-7 years of residency training not including fellowships. If these people pretending to be Doctors think we don't have the endurance to see this through to the end, then they're beyond wrong. #StopScopeCreep

Very happy to see ACEP and EMRA calling out the PA title change resolution! Other Physician groups should do the same! bit.ly/3us6mur

#MedTwitter #txlege this is for every time a NP, CRNA, PA say they don't know of anyone who tries to pass themselves off as a physician. I have seen this way too often. A name means something when it is used to signify a certain degree.

In the case of Alexus Ochoa-Dockins, her CT scan being initially misread by a nurse practitioner turned out to be a case of life or death. Two physicians detail how care from nonphysicians vastly differs from care provided by doctors. spr.ly/6017y5nt9 #StopScopeCreep

@Ehrest It’s not even the ptsin the ED, for the most part at least. It is being utterly and completely dismissed by your community when you try to share scientific information with them. Doctoring doesn’t stop in the exam room, and being formerly trusted and now receiving open scorn…

All these med students posting gorgeous professional head shots & introducing themselves as residency applicants on Twitter. So f-ed up! TOO MUCH! What about med students who can’t afford professional photos along with all the other expenses? Residency Directors - REIN IT IN!
