🚨 New paper out! 🚨 Our latest paper with Sebastian Gluth, Erik Stuchlý and Arkady Konovalov, where we empirically show that people can learn others' social preference from observing their response time ALONE ⏱️ is finally published in PLOS Biology! 🧵👇 journals.plos.org/plosbiology/ar…

See Sophie Bavard's thread for details on our new paper! 👇

We're thrilled to have Stefano Palminteri (@stepalminteri.bsky.social) + friends here with us for a week of scientific exchange and exploring rainy Hamburg. Join us for Stefano's talk on Thursday at 4:15pm at VMP11 or via Zoom. ☂️

We are having a great time! Thanks to Sebastian Gluth and the @GenPsychLab for having us! !! Great science and fun! :-)

Thanks again to Sebastian Gluth and the amazing @GenPsychLab for this week, it has been amazing! We so much look forward to the next opportunity! Looking forward to the next step of our German tour with Charley Wu (@thecharleywu.bsky.social)

For a plain summary of our results, see: 📰 press release from PLOS Biology (in English) eurekalert.org/news-releases/… 📰 interview in Scientias.nl (in Dutch) scientias.nl/wil-je-weten-w… 📰 interview in DER SPIEGEL (in German) spiegel.de/wissenschaft/m…

We're excited to have Lucas Castillo visiting from Warwick with us for three months! Don't miss his talk at the Society for Mathematical Psychology conference in Tilburg next week! He will be talking about using random generation tasks to learn how people generate samples for choices, etc.

🚨NEW PAPER ALERT🚨 Many e-commerce platforms offer the possibility for consumers to write reviews. How do they decide what to write about? "Attention-driven imitation in consumer reviews": out now in Decision, with Charles Alba and Lukasz Walasek: doi.org/10.1037/dec000… 1/8

Why do more numerate people tend to make better decisions under risk? My ✨ new paper in Scientific Reports ✨ offers an explanation in terms of pre-decisional information search and processing, using computational modeling. nature.com/articles/s4159… 👇 Thread below 1/8

Attending Neuroeconomics in Cascais? Don't miss out on my poster P1-F-35 tomorrow afternoon if you're curious about EEG surprise signals in observational learning 👀 Cognitive Modelling & Decision Neuroscience Sebastian Gluth #SNE2024

On my way to #SNE2024 in Lisbon - excited to return to the conference after two years! I will be presenting a poster "P3-I-200 - Bottom-Up and Top-Down Attention in Value-Based Choice" - some new work joint with Blair Shevlin and Clayton Hickey - check it out on Sunday

The Human Reinforcement Learning Team is going to #SNE2024 🇵🇹 en masse! Here a thread of our posters and presentations! We really look forward to reconnect with the community!

Almost the entire Social Neuroscience Lab Lübeck is at the #SNE2024 in Cascais, Portugal 🎉 Below, you will find a thread of what we will present during the upcoming days:

So happy for my buddy Mael Lebreton for this very deserved achievement! Also bravissimi Rahul Bhui and Patricia Lockwood for their early career award of the #SNE2024!

🎉New preprint out led by Pablo León Villagrá! We use random generation as a way to elicit people's beliefs. This is as accurate as other elicitation methods, but it can be used in non-numeric domains. Check it out here osf.io/687au

🚨 PhD opportunity! 🚨 I will support one application for the MIBTP doctoral training program this year, joint with Patricia Lockwood. Please get in touch by Jan 7th via email (CV and cover letter) if you are interested in doing a PhD in decision neuroscience. Please RT! (1/2)
