After a few twitter technical hitches, the nursery page is back! We can’t wait to share all of our learning so far with you! This week we are thinking about the noisy story- Bear Hunt! Have you ever been on a bear hunt? We will be going on one tomorrow so watch this space 😁

We're going on a bear hunt! We're going to catch a big one! What a beautiful day. We're not scared! We had a brilliant time on our bear hunt this week. We found swishy grass, squelchy mud, a dark forest, a deep river and a snowstorm! J- "That was the best bear hunt EVER!"

Welcome to Somers Park surgery! We are open between the hours of 8.30 and 3.30 and ready to take appointments. We offer kind, friendly and efficient care and we are particularly good at caring for babies and giving injections!

It’s been a busy few weeks in nursery and my Twitter is finally back up and running after a few technical issues! We can’t wait to show you everything that we have been doing! We are becoming a wonderful team and friendships are blossoming!

What an amazing turnout for our parent craft workshop yesterday! It always means so much to the children to have their family in nursery and see them making some special decorations together. A very memorable day! Thank you for coming 🌟

We are very excited to perform ‘A Nursery Rhyme Nativity’ to you on Tuesday! The morning performance starts at 10am and the afternoon performance is at 1.30pm. Please arrive 10 minutes earlier to be seated :) We can’t wait to see you!

This week we are reading ‘The Three Little Pigs’. Do you know how amazing we are at reading the story out loud? We have built amazing 3D models, cut out scary wolf masks and drawn pictures to represent the story. We are enjoying our traditional tales topic!

Next weekend, families will be celebrating Chinese New Year across the world.We can’t wait to learn all about this amazing celebration!We will be tasting food, dragon dancing, crafting and even having a go at using chop sticks! We will also be making our own vegetable chow mein!

I am so impressed! What a super piece of homework!

Whilst out looking for Superworm, we came across this amazing tree seat! We can’t wait to come back and use it during the celebration of the Kings coronation this year!

World book day 2023- We explored stories, sang nursery rhymes, performed in front of each other and we even went on a hunt for Superworm and the evil crow! We found Superworm and even spotted some early signs of spring on the way! #WorldBookDay2023

We had a little look at the new forest school area and we are so impressed! Miss Dakin has made it such a special space for the children to use. What lucky children at Somers Park! We love learning outdoors!

We had snow much fun today at school! How lucky are we to be 3 years old and have a lovely open safe space to run and be free! This lovely little lot had the time of their lives. Whilst Mrs Brimmell and I got pelted with snow balls. #youronly3once!

What's on the menu today in the mud kitchen? Certainly not mud. Today it was a snow kitchen! Who knew that snow pie and snow soup would taste so delicious!

Today, we met Josie 😊Josie is our school dog. Next week we are learning about pets. Josie will be visiting us to teach us about dogs and how to care for them. The children fell in love with Josie today and can't wait for her to visit again next week!

We were honoured to have a visit from Josie in pet week! We learnt about the food she eats, how she cleans herself, what she plays with and she even showed off with a few tricks! Josie was so calm and and that had a calming effect on us. We can't wait for her to visit us again!

We also met Mr Torty! Mr Torty belongs to Mrs Williams and she very kindly let us have a hold. He got tired very quickly so he didn't stay for long but we enjoyed his little visit! It was nice to meet an unusual pet and we were fascinated by the texture of his shell.

This half term we have been exploring our emotions! Can you guess how we are feeling? Understanding our feelings is a HUGE part of the Early Years curriculum. "When little people are overwhelmed by BIG emotions, it's our job to share our calm, not join their chaos." L.R.Knost.

To support our topic of Spring,we have been on a spring walk!We held our clipboards and pencils carefully and we ticked off signs of spring that we had seen.We didn't see many insects so we think we will wait until its warmer but we saw blossom, flowers, buds, seedlings & a nest!
