Welcome to our new followers! 👋 SODCAP Inc. is a partnership between stakeholders and government, working to advance the South of the Divide Multi-Species Action Plan — supporting 13 species listed as At Risk, Threatened, or Endangered under the Species at Risk Act.

SODCAP Inc. works collaboratively to make habitat management for species at risk a priority that is also economically sustainable. Biodiversity supports Saskatchewan’s economy, and healthy native prairie benefits wildlife, livestock, and people alike.

Did you know that native prairie habitat supports Saskatchewan’s economy? By conserving species at risk and their habitats, we help agriculture, ranching, and other industries grow alongside wildlife.

At SODCAP, we focus on more than just protecting habitats. We work on actively managing them through programs that improve the land for species at risk. Our goal is to make sure these ecosystems stay healthy and sustainable over time.

Grasslands may not always get the spotlight it deserves, but they’re vital to our wildlife, culture and history. They provide food, shelter and breeding grounds for species at risk. They are also one of the most endangered ecosystems on Earth. Protecting them matters greatly!

SODCAP’s efforts are supported by science and lived experience. By collaborating with researchers and land managers, we make decisions based on data and discussions. From species monitoring to habitat restoration, science and partnership guides our work to improve biodiversity.

Rangelands cover over half the world’s land and they’re vital here in southwest Sask. As we build toward the 2026 Intl Year of Rangelands & Pastoralists, Saskatchewan is highlighting our grasslands, producers, and prairie stewards. Stay tuned!
