On this date in 1981, Terry Fox died of cancer in New Westminster, one month before his 23rd birthday. Fox raised nearly $25 million to fight cancer and won the love and admiration of millions. We will never forget

I reread this speech by Douglass after replacing slavery with racism, anti-slavery with antiracism, slaveholder with racist, and slave with Black person. The speech came alive and spoke to what we should be feeling today. It gave me chills in its enduring power.

When I find myself in tough conversations, when I am being held accountable, when I am called to unlearn, relearn, or just learn — This is my mantra. It’s been a game-changer. Less armor. More learning.

Was asked again if 'White' people can write stories with Indigenous characters. I said yes. Many of my stories include non-Native people. In Canada, we all go in and out of each other's life. That's real. But-pay attention- I do not write from their perspective. Big difference

Went out in public yesterday and saw two of my 2020 grad babies. Brought such a sparkle to my day.

Educators worry about safety while designing a new way to deliver their craft. Leaders know there’s a need for direction. Parents must navigate safety without comparing themselves to other parents. Although our world is different, relationship and kindness remain constant.

The Vic High seismic project is advancing with site preparation, demolition and asbestos abatement. Crews are setting aside building materials to preserve for future use. Check out the items being catalogued in the gymnasium to be repurposed in the upgraded school. #sd61learn
