Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in U.S. courts. So the position now seems to be that U.S. courts can prosecute foreign presidents, but not hold the U.S. president accountable for crimes.

Makes no sense to me. The consequences to Alberta and Canada’s economy will be severe. Oil prices and shares of Canadian oil and gas companies will go down. Canadian shareholders hurt. Pension funds hurt. Don’t get it. This has nothing to do with drugs, all to do with Oil.

Just pathetic. If Trump can invade any nation he desires, then any nation with something Trump desires - like oil, rare earth minerals, or an increasingly navigable arctic - has cause for alarm. We endorse Trump's ends-justifies-the-means method and we may live to experience it.
