Felt terrible for my Y11s today. Literally had no words for them

I have not seen another human for 102 hours, except the three dog walkers I saw on my run yesterday.

I really don't want to go back to my current school when this ends. I was looking for jobs before the lockdown and now SLT posts have pretty much dried up.

So, I have reasonably well controlled asthma and am on a secondary school SLT. I havent been in school since 17th March. Should I be going back next week? National Education Union any thoughts?

Autumn series exams started today. Bring on our 9 (!) weeks of exams. Oxbridge entries, autumn series, eng and maths resits, mocks for Y10, 11, 12 and 13 in case of CAGs again next year

I'm at that point where I am really dreading returning to work on Monday. I am trying to be a productive member of a political SMT with their own agendas while teaching a 0.66 timetable and being generally terrified of the pandemic, both personally and the impact on the kids

Let's play a game. Tomorrow I have my first non contact all week (it's actually a double free). What are the odds I get a cover lesson? Y8 German on a Friday? Surely guaranteed.

Love a good old parental complaint on a Sunday night. My favourite line "...and you didn't have the manners to replay on Friday night...." a) it was 9pm on Friday and b) sent to the wrong (made up) email 🤦‍♂️ people have very short memories

So, there’s a lot of talk about teachers administering COVID tests. I can’t even unjam the photocopier without sending for at least three different people. I feel like the DfE should take that into account.

Just watched casualty. That was a mistake. I'm now more terrified than ever of catching this virus. I am really worried this is the year that teaching kills me.
