At SJ AIDS Alliance , we have provided our services to over 1,200 people, and our work cannot and should not stop now. We must make our voice heard and deliver a clear message: syringe access programs are good for our community. #SaveOasis

Members and organizers of our organization are testifying tonight to #SaveOasis because, if there’s any one principle that animates our work, it’s that people should get the help they need.

Imagine believing that getting rid of a syringe exchange will stop people from using drugs. #SaveOasis

This is ridiculous. The City of Atlantic City - Government Council just ended the public comment period even though there were people who signed up to speak — INCLUDING THE CEO OF THE SYRINGE EXCHANGE. How can they not allow the head of SJ AIDS Alliance to speak before a vote to close it??

Atlantic City Council voted to end its syringe service program, after hours of testimony and dozens of speakers. Many kept alluding to the fact that the state has "a plan," whatever that means. (NJ government does have oversight.)

The country is moving towards a full embrace of harm reduction every day. Black communities will once again be left behind and suffer under the torment of continued criminalization. Black elected officials have to see it that way. #SaveOasis

This isn’t acceptable. Public servants need to hear from the public. That is the job, after all.

Tenant friends, I cannot stress this enough -- if you have a court notice for an eviction hearing, you MUST attend, if you want to have a shot at staying in your home. Not attending is the quickest way to being evicted.

The team coming together to #SaveOasis is MIGHTY and our message is CLEAR: 💉 Syringe services are an essential health service ☠️ City of Atlantic City - Government decision to close syringe services is deadly & inhumane ❤️ People are rising up to #SaveOasis- with numbers & justice on our side
