Definitely this! 👇 We've attended two water rescue incidents in as many days in Lancs and whilst we don't want to be killjoys, we understand its enticing to paddle in a cool river on a hot day we really do want you to be mindful of the risks and #BeWaterAware

Week 1 on RTC month, means working on the initial actions when we arrive at an incident. This includes, scene safety, safe approach, stabilisation and glass management.

Being an on call firefighter is very unique. It is a job where different employments, bringing different skills, come together to form one team. Tonights drill was casualty handling and first aid delivered by our own Firefighter who’s primary employment is a paramedic for NWAS

Last night we practiced our tool control on the Tirfor Winch. The winch can not only be used for pulling a vehicle, but also for lifting and lowering. What better way to tests the crews tool handling.

Last night we consolidated everything we have learnt this month, in an off site training exercise. Was great to see the crew remembering and performing tasks in a safe and timely manner.

Carnforth Fire Silverdale Fire and Blackpool Fire along with one crew from Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service tackled a fire involving a detached train carriage in Carnforth earlier this morning. Crews are still damping down but the number of crews has been reduced to two. bit.ly/33tKuoo
