Very excited and proud to share this preprint from AMAZING scientist Shiyi Wang and colleagues, pinpointing a novel role for an astrocytic mechanism in Parkinson's Disease (PD) pathogenesis. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Very excited to share this work in collaboration with UW Bioengineering, Duke University School of Medicine and UNC School of Medicine. Reactivation kinetics of single T-lymphocytes were tracked over time by an automated microarray followed by sorting and single-cell RNA-sequencing to examine transcriptional heterogeneity.

Our latest study is out today in Nature Neuroscience. We report that tau-activation of cGAS in AD diminishes cognitive resilience by decreasing the neuronal transcriptional network of MEF2C through type I interferon (IFN-I) signaling. Why is age the main risk for Alzheimer’s disease? Mouse models reveal that the loss of myelin integrity is causally linked to enhanced plaque deposition. Great work by Dr. Constanze Depp, @TingSun_MPINAT et al. in Nature nature.com/articles/s4158…

SynBot preprint is out!!! Do you want to quantify synapses from immunohistochemistry images accurately and benefit from the advances in machine learning! Check it out! Open access software on GitHub, and all protocols are on protocols.io! Congrats to Justin Savage and co!

Such an exciting new tool from our lab!! 🎉🎉 Congrats Justin Savage!!

SHOUT-OUT to my lab’s outstanding PhD student Arinze Arinze Emmanuel Okafor and postdoc fellow Dr. Xin Lin for co-leading this study! We are a group of very proud CELL BIOLOGISTS!

Our new paper on the role of the parafascicular thalamic nucleus. Congrats to first author Isabella Fallon. cell.com/current-biolog…
