Keeping Kankakee County Safe: Recent Warrant Sweep Removes Violent Offenders from Our Streets 🚔⚖️

Today, we honor the memory of Kankakee County Correctional Officer Jerome Combs. On February 27, 1986, Officer Combs sustained fatal injuries while attempting to restrain an unruly inmate at the Detention Center. In 2005, the new jail was named in his honor.

We mourn the passing of former Gov. George Ryan, a Kankakee native whose leadership helped bring vital projects like the Jerome Combs Detention Center & Bukowski Public Safety Center to life. His decades of public service leave a lasting legacy. Our condolences to the Ryan family
