The front of the Spine Race will be exciting to watch, but alas, I will be plodding along somewhere in the field with one goal - to finish! Montane Spine Race live.opentracking.co.uk/spinerace24/

Many know Sharon Gayter as the long-time record-holder for Land’s End to John O’Groats. Here in Kirk Yetholm, she is a serial finisher of Britain’s Most Brutal race. Sharon completed the Summer Spine in '22 & '23 but hadn't finished a full Winter Spine until now. #spinerace 🧵

Her international pedigree showed as she went endured the Peaks, Dales, Pennines and Cheviots could throw her way. Undoubtedly, the combination of distance, exposure, personal and mental management combines to form a huge challenge for all of our athletes. #spinerace 🧵

She has had a tough experience this year, crossing the line with a black eye and described this year’s experience as one of the toughest she has ever done. Congratulations from the Montane Spine Race Team. #spinerace 🧵

I survived but the last night with 70 mph winds shredded my number. I thought this may be better than my battered face. I got the adventure I expected! Thanks to all involved Montane Spine Race

Lyke Wake Race 40 miles of wet weather (Fylingdales had 113 mm rain according to BBC weather this morning). Wonderful to see old friend Gerry Orchard supporting at finish. When I ran 6 hr 33 in 1993 he ran 5 hr 31 min.

On our way to Scotland for another long adventure. The Race Across Scotland by Ultra Great Britain follows the beautiful and remote Southern Upland Way. Me running, Bill and Baxter crewing.

The Race Across Scotland was beautiful, best belt buckle ever for finishing. Rather tired now, 215 miles of mainly sunshine but a storm too Ultra Great Britain

After 91 hrs 54 mins I finished the Race Across Scotland, 215 miles. I it nearly 2am and I could only just hold this big belt buckle in one hand. 9th and oldest female to finish. Over 50% do not finish.
