Early in my career, as a jr. consultant, it was my job to bring all the printed materials to big client meetings. I'll never forget the senior male partner who insisted on carrying the boxes for me so I wouldn't be written off. "I want them to listen to you." This stuff matters.

Having a FY that starts Feb 1 makes Jan 1 feel like daylight savings. End of year stress is avoided (ok, lessened) by not directly colliding with holidays, and people go into planning mode refreshed and excited for the year ahead.
