The combo of Devastator (or Salamander) armour and the Maxigun has a curious effect on cadets. I have had multiple instances of low rank cadets joining my squad, and following me around like a puppy. One began calling me "sir". Another said "You are my hero."

Another referred to me constantly by "General" instead of my alphanumeric. One followed me around with a supply pack, handing me ammo constantly. Another with a recoilless rifle, clearing heavies. I must become the hero these aspiring Helldivers think I am. I can't let them down.
